YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Backend Engineer (F/M/D), you will work closely with our development, UX/IxD teams and product managers to design, implement, and optimize scalable and robust backend systems. You will play a key role in building innovative software solutions that meet the needs of our clients and drive the success of our organization.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features and enhancements

Analyze and optimize backend systems for maximum performance, scalability, and maintainability

Write clean, well-organized, and maintainable code following industry best practices

Troubleshoot and resolve technical / backend issues, providing support to internal teams as needed and implement appropriate solution

Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve overall code quality and best practices

Take part in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends in the software engineering domain, actively contributing to the continuous improvement of NextAim's development processes

YOUR PROFILE

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

At least 5 years of experience in backend development, preferably in the software development industry in a senior role

Strong proficiency in modern backend technologies and languages, such as Python, Java, Node.js, or Ruby on Rails

In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and database systems (SQL and NoSQL)

Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail

Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices

Experience working with agile methodologies and project management tools

Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working in agile environments

Proficiency in English; both written and spoken; German language skills are a bonus
